wait…just wait

Psalm 27:14 NIV

Wait for the Lord ;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the Lord .

Have you ever had to wait? Ask for something and had to wait to get it? Did you enjoy it? I have to be honest…I do not like to wait…such a downfall for me. I have come to learn that my test is patience, and I don’t have a lot of that it seems. Hmmm…( since this is my test, how am I going to explain this to the drama team during Bible study hmm)

Have you ever asked God for something, and maybe expect it then. I have, and I still do…I have had a need before God for four years now. I have longed, prayed, cried, fasted, stood in prayer lines, received spoken prophesy, and put action behind my faith, and yet I wait. It’s been so hard not to give up. I do have to admit, I have gotten down hearted before. Sometimes I have to remind myself not to question God, that all comes in His timing.

I want to encourage you today to not give up. Hold on to that request you have before the Lord. To press on and cling to your prayers. It may seem like its taking forever or that God has forgotten. He hasn’t and just when your about to give up, the blessing or answer is right around the corner!

Keep waiting!

God Bless You,
Amanda

seasoned with salt and grace

Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.~ Colossians 4:5-6 NIV

The Bible is full of instruction to how we are to act towards each other. It gives us wisdom on how to go about each and every day, living each day to speak to others and celebrate God.

So coming across this verse, it was a big eye opener to me. Though I have it on our Contact Us page I have to be honest, I haven’t given it much attention. As I came across it today. I stopped and did some thinking. My number one goal on earth is to lead someone to God. This is what we are called to do. I like to think of us a seed starters. Farmers if you will, carrying around a bag that says ” seed starter” and sprinkle it into people’s lives, like we would Miracle Grow on our gardens. We drop some seed starter and let God take over!

The thing is, is how do we act around others, our words and actions speak volumes about our character. As I pondered on about this, I thought of how might my words and actions speak to others. How is my tone….my words??? Are they really seasoned with salt and full of grace? Am I winning souls to God’s Kingdom? If I’m going to be honest and grade myself…I would give myself a big fat“F”!! No they haven’t been. We are the light of the world….that city on a hill as the Bible speaks of ( see Matthew 5:14).

If we are ever going to lead people to Christ, it needs to start with clean hearts, following God’s Will, and speak with words seasoned with salt and full of grace! We need to make every opportunity count to witness, we need to keep check on our words. The Bible says we destroy neighbors with our words ( see Proverbs 11:9). We need to speak with wisdom, grace, season them with salt and love. Speak as though as you are speaking to Christ!

So as I see that I have major work to do with my own self, how about you?

Are you and your words seasoned with salt and full of grace?

God Bless,
Amanda

a clean heart

A heart longing to change gets God attention.

When David cried out to Him to change his heart, God’s Spirit was already there, pouring out grace and mercy.

Come to Him when you are in need of a clean heart. Don’t be discouraged or embarrassed – He will not condemn you. Simply ask for His forgiveness and give Him all the sinful and ugly things that have stained your soul. and when you do, He will wash you clean and give you a fresh start. God has the ability to wash us all anew!

Whatever you have done in your lives, God can help you. Offer Him your sin and shame and let Him cleanse you.

Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit from me-Psalms 51:10

…are you washed?

Acts 2:38 KJV

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

I love this verse. Peter was such a rock for the Lord. Could you imagine the day of Pentecost? What a celebration to see! He was right when he said this. If we just come to the Lord, ask for forgiveness and be washed by the blood of Jesus, then we receive the Holy Ghost.

The Holy Ghost is our guide, comforter, a teacher. If we let it, our will guide our footsteps and help us to lead our lives for God! The Holy Ghost will transform your very soul and spirit if you allow!

So as the song that I grew up with goes, what can wash away my sins…nothing but the blood of Jesus!

do you smell sweet?

Ephesians 5:1~2

Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

Let us put on love today. Let us walk and act as Christ did. Let us offer ourselves to God and sacrifice our flesh to become more like Christ.  Let the love of God overfill you each and every day. Our sacrifices becomes a sweet smell to our Lord.

So I ask you….do you smell sweet?

I hope and pray you all had a wonderful Christ Resurrection Day. I took the week off from posting to humble myself and become closer to God. I wanted to get as close to the Lord as I could during remembering what Jesus went through that week! Praise God! For Jesus is Alive!

Have a Blessed Day,
Amanda

do you Hear?

With Adam God spoke face to face.  With Elijah, He spoke in a whisper.  Paul heard Him speak from a blinding light.  Samuel didn’t recognize His voice at first; but once he knew it was God, he was ready for His message.

Have you heard God’s voice lately? In the loudness of life we may not hear Him calling.  But He does beckon us – in our conscience and in the depths of our heart; when we read His word and when we pray

Take time to read and hear His voice today…Read 1st Samuel 3

I read this from I Want A Godly Marriage from Facebook…and it meant so much that I wanted to share it!

Be Blessed!

walk boldly into GRACE

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.~ Hebrews 4:16 (KJV)

If it wasn’t for God’s grace I know that I would not be here. It it wasn’t for His grace, I know that I wouldn’t receive the help that He gives me. I wasn’t worth laying at His feet, but through His son, Jesus, He made me worthy. He made me new and through Him I am able to come boldly to His feet and ask for wisdom, ask for help, and for the answers to my questions. His grace has given me more than I could ever ask for.

Let us today walk boldly before the Lord and experience His grace.

Grace….such a beautiful thing!

Thank you my God and my Savior!

Be Blessed!

we have a Fighter

Have you ever wanted someone to stand beside you? Someone to fight for you? Someone to run too? Maybe a warrior or a soldier? Maybe it’s someone simple, like your parents, best friends, or even your spouse. I have wanted that myself. Though I am a single parent, and I wish to be married again someday, I have found that I have someone greater than anyone I could wish for or run too.

He has known me even before I was born and has been waiting on me to run to him, I just didn’t know it at the time. When I rededicated my life back to God a few years ago, I was hit with a lot of things. The devil tried to bring me down and tell me I would never matter, but I came across a scripture that shows me that I have a warrior that is ready to fight for me and all I have to do is hold my peace! Praise The Lord!!

Just as He fought for the children of Israel, He will fight for you and for me. He is the same fighter, the same warrior, the same commander, and the same God as He was so many years ago. When the enemy is attacking with his tricks and sly remarks, remember and hold to this, that you have a commander that will fight for you. All we have to do is let Him and give Him us.

The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.~ Exodus 14:14 (KJV)

Remember today that you have a fighter that will defend you from the enemy. That all you have to do is stay at peace. Remain in Him and His Word, His peace, His love and He will fight for you! Let Him conquer those traps, let Him break down those walls, let Him ease those doubts!

we have a FIGHTER!

Be Blessed Today!

its not all TALK

I have been thinking that I want to add a verse of the day. I have an app on my phone that gives me a verse of the day, and I find that these come exactly when I am having a rough day and it seems that the devil is just waging his war against me. I have found that the more that I stand on God’s Word, the more that I pray, the more that I seek His Will above my own, the more the devil throws his fiery darts. This makes me cling more to God and know that He will deliver me out of the valley and replenish my soul!

So my verse of the day is this…
For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.-1 Corinthiams 4:20 (NIV)

God just isn’t something or someone. He isn’t just a force. He isn’t a matter of talk, but of power. He will deliver us out of the hands of the devil and He will replenish our souls with His everlasting water!

God Bless,
Amanda
