all about LOVE!!

“Love keeps believing the best of someone even when they haven’t discovered it themselves. As love holds the fragile heart, it gains the strength to grow. Love uplifts to conquer fear, defeat lies, and restore life. Love is the greatest force to embrace because love is God.” author unknown

I can’t always effectively relay what I feel in my heart all the time. Especially when I come to my Lord and Savior. There is so much that I want to say to Him, that sometimes I get lost in my words, and just end up crying because of what He has done for me. He has brought me out of the darkest pit, and brought me into a light full of love. He is my shelter from the storm, and to know that He loves me no matter how I fail. no matter how many times I mess up, no matter how I bring shame to His name every day, He still loves me. Yes, Jesus loves me, for the Bible tells me so! Through this, through His love, I am able to love with such love. I love through a heart that He has healed and is healing, I can love because He has and is showing me how to love.

So as I sit and open my heart and bare my soul, I know that He listens and receives my words and cries. Through His word, I can feel His love, the love that He had for His people, the love that He has for you and me. For He showed us what true love really is all about……
(Want to find out what true love is? Read John 3:16 to find out!)

Through all of the trials and deepest depths that I have went through in my life, there is one truth that is deeply implanted in my heart. It is, even though I’m a leper at His feet, I am grateful for what He has done for me. Words, adjectives, verbs, or nouns could never tell Him enough just how much I love Him and how I am grateful for Him baring my sins on upon His shoulders and loving me enough to die for me. I am so grateful for what He has brought into my life, and the gifts and blessings He revels into my life each and every day.

Why am I grateful? Why does He love us so much? Why did He send His son to die for us?

Because……..

God is LOVE-1st John 4:8

A New Year…A New Direction

Happy New Year Everyone!

I hope and pray that the new year brings many blessings and happiness to each and every one of you. I am sorry I haven’t posted yet this year, I have been getting into the groove of things and just taking some time spending it with my daughter and my LORD.

As with a new year comes the resolutions that we all make. Most of the examples include: losing weight and getting fit, becoming financially responsible, being better organized, spending more time with loved ones, reading more, becoming more aware of your surroundings, becoming more responsible….so on and so on. I must admit, I have fallen into these categories so many times, but this year,I wanted something different! I wanted something more than who I wanted to become better than I have ever been. I wanted a new direction….a new life…..a closer walk with my God!

After determining that I wanted this, I didn’t know how to go about it. I prayed and talked to the Lord about it, but it wasn’t until I heard a wonderful message, preached by the most wonderful Man Of God, that showed me how I could gain this New Direction.( that wonderful Man Of God just happens to be my dad!)

This year is going to bring about change. We may elect a new president, the economy will either change for the better or worse, we will lose loved ones, and welcome new lives into the world. Either way, this year we all will go through change. How about we think about this….. As long as we are making all of these resolutions that we hardly ever keep, how about we make one that is for the best and keep it! How about we gain a new direction in our lives and walk a little closer to God this year! How about we turn over our lives to the one that created us, and let Him run the show! How about letting Him give us a New Direction! How do we do this? I will share with you, what my dad preached about on New Direction!

1. Prayer- Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.For every one that asketh recieveth; and he that seeketh findeth, and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.-Matthew 7:7
Hmmm ask! That shouldn’t be hard to do. We have not because we ask not. If we get right with our prayers, get down on our knees and start getting ahold of God with our prayers. He Will move! It may not be in the time that we would like or in the answer that we would like it to be, but God will move! Prayer changes things. It will get ahold of God quicker than anything else will. Through prayer, we can open up and just have ” A little talk with Jesus” and tell him all about our troubles. He longs to hear from us and to have those talks with Him. Tell Him everything that you wish. He won’t run away or hide. He won’t gossip or talk about you behind your back! He will listen and offer the advice and wisdom that only He can give!
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.-James 5:16
This tells us to confess our sins and thoughts. We can always confess to Jesus! By confessing our thoughts to the Lord, it humbles our hearts, our souls, and ourselves to God. It cleanses us, by asking God’s forgiveness. Also confess to each other. Once we confess, we are to pray. Confession builds a relationship with one another. Confess to one another, so we maybe healed! – the fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
If we want our lives to start out different, we need to start our days off with prayer. Let our souls cry out!

2. Listen- to listen means to be quite, to stop talking! Do we ever quit talking and just listen to God? Listen to the ones around us?
And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand.-Matthew 15:10.When we quit praying, listening, paying attention, and receiving, our lives will become a mess.Mark 4 vs 14 -20 talks about parable of the sower and how the seeds were sown onto different types of ground. We can either be stony ground, thorny ground, or good ground. The good ground hears the word, receives it, and brings forth fruit (vs20). I, myself, have chosen to be the seed sown onto good ground. WE all can be this. How? By listening By listening to God’s Word and applying it to our lives! We make the choice on how good we live.

3.Study and Read God’s Word-Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.-2 Timothy 2:15. Hmm just like in school we are to study and listen if we want to pass the class, we need to study, read and listen to God’s Word if we want to pass His class! If we want to get closer to God, then we must show ourselves approved unto God. God doesn’t want us to be ashamed. We need to read and study to fight off the devil. The word is our WEAPON against Satan. When we apply the word of God to our lives, we don’t have to be ashamed. We don’t walk the ways of the world, and people wont be ashamed to be around you. I’m sure we all have murmured and complained some time. Some may on a daily basis. Im so guilty of this. Complaining to God why this and that has happened and why I haven’t gotten this, or why this person has wronged me this way. But His word tell us to not murmur and complain. . When we murmur and complain, it sows discourt and God is displeased with it.

4.Be a DOER of Gods Word-But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.-James 1:22.Be excited of what you do for God! Whatever you do, do to the glory of the Lord.but whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.-James 1:25.God wants to bless you in your deeds. Don’t be a hearer, be a doer. Follow God’s Word, do as He instructs. He will bless when we follow Him. His word is real! The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.-Psalms 37:23.Be full of prayer, follow in Gods steps, be a difference maker, a prayer warrior!

After doing all of these things, we should be closer to God more this year than we have! I know that after hearing this message, I needed to reexamine my own soul salvation. I came up with wanting to know Him more. Why? Because knowing Him, is to want to know Him more. I want a New Direction for my life and my daughter, and following God is the only way we will get that!

I hope all of you have the most blessed year and through it all lets give Christ what He deserves…. US!
Lots of prayers and love,
Amanda

Faith Drops

The BIBLE is God’s love story for you, and every time you read it, allow it to unfold in your heart as a love letter written by God to you. In just such a light of open expectation, the revelation of His love and His plan for you will jump off the pages and into your life every time you turn the pages of the GREATEST Love Story Ever Told!!

In His book, He has written 66 of the most beautiful love letters ever told. Only God can write a love letter so moving, so uplifting, so full of encouragement, and full of instruction. He tells us that NOTHING will ever separate the love that He has for us. That if it does, it’s because we have allowed sin to separate us from Him.

Become lost in the word, find love in His letters, and you will never be the same again!

A Thankful Day

And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.-Colossians 3:17

Today is a day of thanks. A day for us to gather together with family, friends…the people that we love. While we are enjoying in the harvest of the bounty and just being in good company, lets not forget the true reason for thanksgiving. Let us all give high praises and mighty thanks to God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ. For it was through the death of Christ that we have the gift of Eternal Life, and for that we should be eternally grateful.

Let us not forget the wonderful, brave, and courageous service men and women fighting for our country. I know that they miss being home and wishing they could be with loved ones. Let us pray for them continually and offer up many thanks for their mighty hearts! Let us remember those that have lost loved ones this year, and the ones that are in need. I know that it is going to be especially hard for them. Lets lift them up in our prayers and pray that the Holy Spirit will surround them with constant love and healing.

In everything we do or speak let us always give thanks to God. There is always something to be thankful for!

I am thankful that I am getting to spend the blessed day with my daughter, my parents, and my brother that I am so thankful that is alive!

I pray God’s many blessings to you all!

Blessings and Love,
Amanda

Faith Drops

My Brother and his beautiful baby girl Braelynn

Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.-Philippians 4:4

The Lord had been dealing with me for quite some time about being truly thankful for what I had. After my family was given the task of helping some families in need, I was really troubled about what I took for granted. All of the small things that we think will always be there…Air, Water, Food, Clothing, Shelter. I am so guilty in always thinking that I would have those things, that it never really hit me until that very moment. So I decided to be especially thankful this season, but I never knew the true reason until now.

My brother was hurt in a logging accident on November 12, 2011. The first thought that came to me when I seen him on that stretcher was, ” He’s Dead!”. My stomach hit the floor and everything that I hold true to myself, I pushed in the back of my mind. All I could see at that moment was my only brother hurt and fighting for his life. They had to transport him to another hospital, and it seemed like hours before we heard anything. When my dad finally got to the hospital, all of my family, our friends, and church family, gathered together, holding hands, called out to the Almighty God. We plead for Mikie’s life and the almighty healing that only He can give. When my parents returned from talking with doctors, we were told that my brother had a broke pelvis, a severed bladder, and would have to wear a tube for up to a year. He wouldn’t be able to walk or do much of anything until his pelvis healed. After that, he would go through physical therapy and home health until he was up and his usual self. Now, if anyone knows my brother, they know that he is never still, and when I finally got to see him, it broke me. I couldn’t stand to see him just lying there helpless, screaming because of the pain. I just wanted to take it all away from him. We had everyone on Earth praying it seemed, because God moved. I know that we all touched the throne of Heaven that night….for my brother didn’t have to have surgery!! Oh, how I praise you God in Heaven!!

So as I sit and think of what I am truly thankful for, I am thankful that not only is there a God in Heaven that hears our prayers, but that my prayer is coming home today!!

So again, I will REJOICE!!
